Thanks for Camberwell, The Prague and Hello Brunny Hotel!
Hey Little Boners!
Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and made their way to the Palace Camberwell gig! We had a great time, and it would seem we got the best sound mix we've had yet. I had a bald man with a bushy grey moustache come up to me, shake me by the hand, and tell me he really appreciated our sound. I'm not sure that he's exactly our normal target audience, but shit, he loved us. If we had shirts I would have given him one.
We placed second on the night, and got 85% on our score card from the organisers. Unfortunately we had a gig clash for the semi-final, so we've had to part ways with that little competition, but we're thankful for the gig!
An extra special thanks to those who made it to The Prague last Thursday. It was a bit of an odd night, but we were really glad to have you guys there. And glad the vampires didn't come in from the walls! Looking forward to see a few people who came up to us after the show (new fans!) at upcoming shows...
So... about those gigs! As above (avert your eyes, children), we're playing the Brunswick Hotel on the 22nd of July. There's no cover charge, beer is cheap, and the Brunswick is a great, warm venue.
Additionally, we're playing with two acts we've wanted to play with for a very long time. I've known Jess Shulman for a little while now, and seen her play several times, and she's freaking awesome. She will steal your heart and break it through song. And she'll probably laugh about the whole thing. She's that good.
Adam Cousens can be found here and/or here. He has a new album on its way in the next few months, a great sound and shit, is this guy famous yet? Because he fucking should be. He's supported Clare Bowditch, The Bedroom Philosopher, Tim Rogers, The Angels and played more festivals than my hands could bear to actually type. He's got a great sound, and we're really looking forward to playing with him.
9:00 - Jess Shulman
10:00 - Adam Cousens (and Band)
11:00 - Little Bones
So, three bands you really need to see, cheap beer, no cover. Come down. Do yourself a favour (and invite Molly Meldrum, if you know him).
** Please note the above swap of Adam Cousens and Little Bones. **
